Neighbors C.A.R.E. (Connecting Aging Resource to Elders) is an outreach program that provides services and programs to the out-lying areas of East Yuma County as well as the "elder pockets" of the Wray Community. This delivery system is done under the direction of Program Manager, BJ Wilson. She, along with each of the community Peer Leaders, bring the requested programs and activities to their locations. The goal of the Neighbors C.A.R.E. program is to meet the need where the need exists!
The following is a list of Peer Leaders who represent their communities:
- Karan Harsh: Laird
- Gayle Blecha: Wauneta
- Roberta Schaffner: The Towers Assisted Living Center
- Undetermined: Vernon
- Diana Pfeiler: Idalia

The Neighborhood House Program is a companion program for seniors who need a friendly visitor. This neighbor to neighbor approach identifies those seniors who are lonely for any number of reasons. Maybe they can no longer drive, they have no immediate family or friends to provide companionship, or they have a compromised health condition or even depression. Regardless of the reason, we match these seniors to volunteers with similar interests. These new "neighbors" then get together weekly to visit, have coffee, walk or do whatever they enjoy together.
Each November a day is set aside to honor veterans, active and retired, to recognize and thank them for them for their sacrifices and efforts. All veterans eat for free and special entertainment is provided.
